Madalina Dobra, CPA, MAC, has over a decade of experience working exclusively with private foundations. She has provided accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance services to more than 50 private foundations of varying sizes and levels of complexity. Madalina works closely with clients to establish and achieve charitable and family gift-planning goals and collaborates with attorneys and financial advisors to establish, merge, or dissolve private foundations.

Her aim is to help clients build lasting philanthropic legacies while meeting their financial and tax-planning objectives.

I’m driven by clarity and thoughtful planning, and I love working with numbers. To me, accounting is a roadmap—it shows where you’ve been and helps guide where you want to go.

As a CPA, helping people succeed brings me real joy and purpose. My focus on philanthropic work with private foundations gives my life deeper meaning. It allows me to give back, support my community, and share the blessings I’ve received in a way that truly matters.Madalina Dobra

Madalina brings more than 25 years of combined experience in private and public accounting. In public accounting, she specialized in tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and their closely held businesses, including estate and trust tax planning, business succession planning, and real estate tax planning and management.

Madalina holds a Master of Accounting from North Carolina State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed by the Washington State Board of Accountancy.

Deirdre Gabbay, MA, has extensive experience managing private and family foundations, including board governance, grantmaking, meeting preparation, workflow management, nonprofit due diligence, and relationships with grantee organizations. In her role as a foundation administrator, she works closely with trustees, advisors, nonprofit leaders, financial professionals, and other partners to support thoughtful, efficient, and well-organized philanthropic decision-making.

Deirdre had the privilege of working directly with Dan Asher at Foundation Management Group, assisting him in all aspects of foundation administration, board meeting preparation, and grants management. Through this work, she developed strong relationships with both foundation director-clients and the leadership of the nonprofit organizations they support. She currently serves on the boards of several Seattle-area private foundations in her capacity as a foundation administrator and brings substantial nonprofit board leadership experience to her work.

Deirdre earned a BA in mathematics from the University of Chicago and an MA in mathematics from the University of Washington.

“I enjoy organizing information and workflow, but the through-line of my career has been my love for working with people who are deeply engaged with making the world a better place. I am excited to bring every aspect of my career and background, as well as my approach to life, to PMNW.” Deirdre Gabbay
